"BETTER FOR LIFE : Bringing health and wellness to older people through a multidisciplinary approach using funded options"
To be held on Thursday, November 4th, 3-4 pm AEST, 4-5 pm AEDT
Planning of allied health service delivery may be slowed down due to access to funding. With a wide range of Federal and State government funded programs, opportunities for cost savings may be missed. When accessed properly, a successful funding program can get the clients started in the right health pathway that can have important implications for both the client and the clinician.
A successful “Active Ageing” model includes many factors, from a detailed concept and staffing to gym design and multidisciplinary allied health presence. One of the great success stories of health and wellness delivery to both community and residential care is Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. who during the financial year 2020-2021 SCC delivered 108,000 hours of health and wellness services to 3,000 clients (The Source, September 2021).
We are lucky to have two speakers from the SCC team join us to discuss the keys to successful wellness programs. Dr Tim Henwood, Group Manager for Community Wellness & Lifestyle, will discuss the different funding option and Physiotherapist Nick Petch will discuss the importance of a multidisciplinary allied health team.
From the link below, you can sign up and read more about our speakers, including an interview of Dr Tim Henwood, previously published in our Newsletter.
